iOS 9 Public Beta 3 For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch Now Available
iOS 9 Public Beta 3 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now available to download for users enrolled in Apple’s Beta Software Program. The update is absolutely free, and we recommend that users should download it straight away without any sort of hesitation.
When Apple announced iOS 9 at WWDC 2015, it promised that it would make its latest operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch available as a free download for those who wish to test it out and improve it, through a public beta program for non-developers. In July, Apple fulfilled that promise and iOS 9 was made available to the public to try out absolutely free. And now, Apple has seeded Public Beta 3 to testers, further proving that Apple is frantically working behind the scene to enhance its big release for mobile devices.
Just like the developer oriented betas Apple has released so far, the process for updating Public Beta releases is exactly the same. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, then navigate to General > Software Update to download the latest build. Make sure you’re connected to WiFi to kick things into overdrive, otherwise the download won’t take place.
The sole aim of providing Public Beta builds is to gather more usage data, which in turn will allow Apple to further polish its mobile operating system before pushing it out to the end user this fall. If you’re a tester, then we highly recommend that you send Apple crash reports as well by using the Feedback Assistant tool, which ships as part of the iOS 9 Public Beta.
iOS 9 Public Beta 3 comes with the same changes as iOS 9 beta 5, which was released just a while back. Hence, you get the same tweaks and enhancements as the developer oriented beta, so don’t expect anything extra or less in this release for the public.
