iOS 9 Is On 50% Of Devices Already

The iOS 9 adoption rate comes as part of a press release stating that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are all set to arrive this Friday, on the 25th of September.

Apple also announced the fastest iOS adoption ever, with more than 50 percent of devices already using iOS 9.

Apple further revealed:

“Customer response to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been incredibly positive, we can’t wait to get our most advanced iPhones ever into customers’ hands starting this Friday,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iOS 9 is also off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple’s history.”

Despite having its fair share of issues on release day, iOS 9 is gaining momentum unlike any other mobile operating system to come out of Cupertino. iOS 9 is packed with a bunch of new features and technologies that enhance the overall experience of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device.

According to unofficial numbers released 24 hours after the rollout of iOS 9, Cupertino’s mobile OS was on 12% of devices. But given that it’s sitting on top of 50% adoption rate on active devices today, we’re sure Apple will set a new record very, very soon.

In our experience of using iOS 9, we’re surrounded with mixed results. For instance, on devices like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9 is a stuttering animal, but on certain hardware, it flies like a beast. We’re pretty sure that these issues will be taken care of by the company in the days to come in the form of a few point updates, so be on a lookout for that as well.

Apple also revealed that both of its latest flagship devices, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus will be available this Friday. The device is already up for pre-order and you can go ahead and secure yourself one right away if you so wish. And in case you’re wondering, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus both will also be available unlocked, provided you don’t want to tie yourself to a carrier with the usual 2-year contract.

iOS 9 is available to download right now, and we suggest that you update right away if you want to reap the benefits of Cupertino’s latest and greatest mobile operating system.
