Microsoft released a Redstone Preview build for desktop less than two weeks ago, which was followed by a Mobile build last week. Windows Insider Program’s new head, Dona Sarkar, now says that the team has some really interesting things coming our way.

Windows Insiders to test some “interesting things” later this week

It has been a few days since the last Windows 10 Redstone Preview build was released to the Insiders, and while some expected a PC Preview build yesterday, it didn’t happen. Sarkar has now tweeted that some “really” interesting things are coming to Insiders pretty soon. While you would expect this tweet hinting to the next PC Preview build, but Sarkar’s tweet says these interesting bits are coming “late this week & next week.”

This makes us believe that we are looking at two builds, for both the Desktop and Mobile Insiders on the Fast ring. We could receive a new Windows 10 Redstone Preview build for PC later this week, followed by a build for Mobile next week. Here’s what Sarkar tweeted,

Last month, we received reports that Windows 10 Anniversary Update is now feature-locked. Since the current Redstone Preview builds are testing the bits and pieces of the Anniversary Update, new features weren’t expected until after the public release of the first Redstone update. However, Sarkar’s tweet confirms that it would be more than usual bug fixes and polishes that the next Insider Previews will bring, as we might see some new features. Cortana and Edge have been receiving a lot of attention from the Windows 10 development team, and possibly upcoming features are also linked to Microsoft’s assistant and browser. Some have also suggested more exciting features, such as UI changes, but that sounds unlikely at this stage.
