Want to install iOS 10 GM on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch without downloading entire IPSW file? Yes you can over the air and we’ll show you how.

There an Easy Way to Install iOS 10 GM on Your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch – Over the Air Method

Apple released iOS 10 GM build to developers yesterday, with public release all set for September 13th. And while we did walk our readers through the process of installing iOS 10 GM right away from the Apple Developer Program website, today we want to highlight an install method that is much more simpler. It does not require a user to download the entire iOS 10 GM IPSW firmware file, negating the need to connect your device to your computer altogether as everything happens over the air.

Without further ado, let’s jump right into the process itself.

Download and Install iOS 10 GM Over the Air

Before you begin make sure your device is compatible to work with iOS 10. We have added the chart for compatible devices below as well.

1. Assuming you have an active Apple Developer Program membership at hand, sign in using your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. Tap on this link to go there directly.

2. Tap on the ‘menu’ button on the top left hand corner and then tap on ‘Account.’

3. Sign in using your credentials and then tap on ‘Sign In.’

4. Tap on the ‘menu’ button on the top left hand corner again and then tap on ‘Downloads.’

5. Scroll down and you’ll see the iOS 10 GM Seed. Tap on the blue ‘Download’ button next to it.

6. Install the ‘iOS Beta Software Profile’ by tapping on the ‘Install’ button on the top right hand corner. You’ll be required to restart your device, so please do so.

7. Once your device has booted back up, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 10 GM download will pop right up. Simply tap on ‘Download and Install’ and you’re good to go.

Wrap Up

This is the easiest route one can take to install iOS 10 GM on their devices. It’s safe, you don’t lose your files, and best of all – you don’t have to connect your device to anything at all.

The very same build of iOS 10 GM will likely see itself being released to the public on the 13th of September. We will update our readers further when the software bits are available for download, so stay tuned.
