It’s difficult to believe that phones with dual cameras come with an affordable price tag, but just like the trend OnePlus started, Huawei is aiming for the heavens with its Honor 6X. Combining premium made chassis and decent hardware, the smartphone also happens to be the most affordable dual-camera handset out there.

Honor 6X packs a 5.5-inch form factor, which is also the reason why it is able to feature a decent 3,340mAh battery. Its 1080p IPS panel will also consume less battery while appearing bright outdoors. Like several other Huawei handsets, this too is powered by the company’s own Kirin SoC; a Kirin 655. In regards to other chipsets, Kirin 655 features an octa-core processor, with all eight of them being Cortex-A53 cores.

The biggest highlight of the smartphone has to be its 12MP + 2MP dual-camera configuration. Currently, it’s unknown if the camera will be able to shoot images that feature a DSLR-like-bokeh (similar to what iPhone 7 Plus does), or will it be able to shoot wide angle photographs. Looks like we will find out soon. Hopefully, the default camera app will be able to provide users with a lot of features, including manual image and video capturing modes for the ultimate photography session.

There are several models to choose from, with the base model featuring 32GB of internal memory and also comes with 3GB of RAM. Though expandable storage is possible up to 256GB, it will utilize one SIM card slot, leaving you with just a single slot available. However, adopting a dual SIM configuration is more than possible, but for that, you’ll have to purchase the 64GB internal memory option.

Pre-orders of the smartphone have already started, and if you’re wondering about the pricing details, then you’ll be astonished to see that the dual-camera phone can be this affordable:

  • $150 for the 3GB RAM /32GB model
  • $190 for the 4GB RAM/32GB internal storage model
  • $240 for the 4GB RAM /64GB internal storage model

Keep in mind that these pricing details are only available in China, which only means that if the device makes its overseas, you’ll be paying slightly more for it. Still, purchasing an affordable dual-camera Android smartphone is now possible, especially now seeing as how Huawei unveiled its flagship dual-camera phone, P9 not too long ago.
