HTC One X9: Specifications Leak Reveal Mid-Ranger As We Suspected
Only a few hours had passed when we had reported the specifications of HTC One X9, and while we originally believed that the handset was going to be flagship smartphone, the following configurations show that the upcoming device is not what we thought it was previously.
Specifications Leak Show That HTC One X9 Is Running A Helio X10 – Finally Something Positive From The Company
According to a Chinese source, HTC One X9 is going to be running a MediaTek Helio X10, or more commonly known as MT6795. As most of us know, the chipset is going to be running an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor, although the source was not able to mention the frequency at which the CPU will be running at. However, we did find out that the smartphone was going to be running 2GB of RAM (why not a 3GB RAM model is beyond us), indicating that HTC One X9 is not terrible as we originally thought it was.
If the specifications end up being true to the core, then the upcoming handset is going to be miles better than the Snapdragon 617 powered One A9, and if HTC is able to keep a check on its pricing, maybe the smartphone could actually do well in the market. At this point, we are unable to tell the clock speed at which the octa-core processor is going to be running at, but we do know that it is going to be either of the two; 2.0GHz or 2.2GHz.
Keep in mind however, that there are several affordable alternatives that have already made their way to market, and those handsets happen to be none other than Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 as well as LeTV Le 1s. Both smartphones are priced under $200, and looking at past products, we sincerely doubt that HTC is going to price it anywhere near the aforesaid range. There is also going to be 16GB of on-board storage, and seeing as how this particular storage is definitely on the low side, you can expect an expandable storage slot too.
The source also states that there is going to be a 13MP rear camera sensor and a 5MP front snapper. The rear shooter is going to feature an OIS chip and an anti-shake feature that we believe will benefit smartphone camera enthusiasts to some extent. The only question is the pricing strategy the company’s plans on adopting for its upcoming handset.
