I know the phrase “In Soviet Russia hacker ban admin” but this is out right madness!!! Apparently hackers are hard at work developing a WORKING application which can INDEED BAN innocent PSN users. This is complete and utter B.S to say the least, what makes it worse is that this God damn application also has the power to unban a banned console.

1) The bans are based on the users’ account and console ID’s.

2) We can modify all traffic sent and received by the PlayStation3

What if some skiddies start to modify their sent traffic to appear as another user and use backups?

The PSN servers would recognize the TOS violation and check the online user database for known connections based on the ID’s. The user and his consoles who really owns the ID’s would be banned.

Even a simple Windows application which goes through ALL ID’s may be possible. 24 hours and any console worldwide would be banned.

This should definitely be double-checked by SONY.

This is completely stupid, why should the innocent PSN users have to suffer because of Sony’s war against pirates and hackers?

The application was available on a hacking forum (whose name shall not be disclosed due to piracy reasons) and many user have indeed confirmed that this app is indeed working and can run off any Windows based PC. Although for the ban to work you need the targets console ID and the users account (don’t know if this includes a password too).

Apparently the program works as so,

What if some skiddies start to modify their sent traffic to appear as another user and use backups?

I for one would definitely be outraged if some random hacker decides to ruin my ability to enjoy PSN and all the legit games I buy with my hard earned cash. Sony should definitely look into this matter immediately and put George Hotz aside for the while and sort this mess out.
