If you head down to the Google Store right now, you’ll notice one huge change to it, and I don’t mean any implementations to the interface, but two products can no longer be seen on it. Yes, you have guessed it correctly, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P can no longer be seen on the Google Store, which pretty much proves that the company is no longer going to be supporting this brand name any longer.

Goodbye Nexus, Welcome the New Pixel Lineup – Company Does Not Have Any Plans to Introduce New Nexus Devices

Unfortunately, it had to end sometime or another, and with the announcement of Pixel and Pixel XL, it looks like we’ll have to say goodbye to Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. However, this does not mean that the company isn’t going to stop delivering support for it since you’ll still be able to receive software and security updates before any other device out there. Unfortunately, seeing as how software updates will only last for a period of 2 years, looks like the Nexus lineup isn’t going to be updated when Google rolls out its next major software update in 2018.

Though the pricing of Pixel and Pixel XL is nowhere near as affordable as that of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, it looks like consumers are still positive about it. After conducting a recent poll, which involved the hardware comparison of the newly announced handsets against the other flagships that were announced this year, including the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, 17 percent of voters opted for a Pixel XL, while 13 percent of those voters opted for a Pixel. This shows that despite the high asking price for the smartphones, they are still a potential pick for consumers.

In addition to running stock Android, one key area of the newly announced smartphone duo is the lineup of exclusive features that they come with. Both Pixel and Pixel XL are going to be running Android Nougat 7.1 as soon as you remove them from their packaging. Additionally, Google Assistant is going to remain an exclusive feature on these devices. Google Assistant is not something that you might use on a daily basis, but for those that will use it religiously, it is going to become a very handy tool for them.

Even though Nexus 5X and 6P aren’t being sold on the Google Store, you will still have some luck when lurking through online retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, and Best Buy.
