The features that were sorely missed from Samsung’s Galaxy S6 edge made their way to the company’s 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge. The hardware and feature improvements show how far the tech giant has come and is it any wonder why Galaxy S7 edge has been named the best phone of the year?

Galaxy S7 Edge Wins the Best Phone of the Year Award at the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards

Despite the setback caused by Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, it appears that the next best Galaxy handset has been named the best phone of the year. The votes came from members of the public and were given to the device which they thought impressed them the most, and we have to say that there are a numerous amount of changes that make Galaxy S7 edge one of the best Android smartphones around there. First off, Samsung has made the device thinner and at the same time, it has managed to cram in a large 3,600mAh battery, showing to all smartphone manufacturers that such a thing is possible.

In addition, it has one of the best smartphone cameras in the industry and according to critics, it is able to snap images extremely quickly and also has the widest aperture in a smartphone camera lens. That’s not all because, underneath the hood, you will be able to find an Exynos 8890 or a Snapdragon 820 (depending on which region you live in), and the performance of the processor is going to be supplemented by 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Samsung has also brought back expandable storage in the smartphone and the device allows you to expand you existing storage by inserting a 200GB MicroSD card. Samsung also pioneers in making the fastest and most reliable storage solutions, so if you own a Galaxy S7 edge and have yet to expand its existing storage, be sure to look out for a MicroSD card with the name Samsung labelled on it. Do you feel that the phablet deserved to win this award? Let us know your thoughts right away.
