A new rumor surrounding the Galaxy Note 8 has exhumed, revealing that the 6.3-inch phablet will adopt the use of Force Touch. Force Touch is a feature that brings up a variety of options for the user depending on the amount of pressure applied to the display.

Apple’s iPhones have maintained this feature for two generations of mobile phones and it looks like with Samsung, we will finally see this addition on the near-bezel-less handset.

Force Touch Feature on the Galaxy Note 8 Expected to Replace the Functionality of a Home Button – Samsung Could Be Focused on Heavily Tweaked UI to Bring in More Options for a Variety of Applications

According to The Investor, the home button is expected to be replaced with the Force Touch feature. The 3D Touch functionality of the upgrade is expected to kick in depending on the amount of pressure applied to the Galaxy Note 8’s display. With the physical home button now out of the question thanks to the thinning of the bezels, the Force Touch will present more options to the user in terms of the number of specific app functions.

Information surrounding this rumor is very scarce, so we will need to be patient and witness how this feature will run on the Galaxy Note 8, but we’ll still provide our own insights on the matter. We suspect that a hidden menu will pop up that will present more options for the user, making the smartphone experience more flexible for users.

Apart from this, the Note 8 is expected to come with a QHD+ Super AMOLED display with its SoC either being a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895. The RAM count is expected to be increased to 6GB while internal storage models might range from 64 to 128GB of UFS 2.1 memory.
