the safari is a memory hoggggg on windows, i really hated it
i've shifted over from ie7 to chrome permanently, shifted on the first beta, currently running 1.0.154.48 absolutely love it, clean, neat, fast, does what a browser needs to do. plus i like the incognito (privacy) mode laptop specs next to nick

firefox is a memory hog, no doubt about that. But it's the best browser of the world, because of it's addons.
Whereas Chrome is a fast and small application. Good for browsing. And runs fine on low-end PCs, even on celerons or early P4s. Google has always believed in simplicty. If you compare google products, chrome, gmail, bloggers, google.com etc., you'll see that the layout has always been simple. And chrome is the latest example of it.

I am using Google Chrome since first beta (On my home system as well as pretty old P3 650 MHz at work).
It's a pretty simple, neat & fast browser. It's page rendering speed is awesome, fastest than both IE and FF. It's drag and drop UI is pretty good too. Although it has some issues such as sometimes online multimedia streaming e.g youtube, gametrailers etc won't work OK initially and will take some time before the streaming starts and that it lacks add-on support. (As it's in Beta stage so it's nothing much to worry about). Hopefully it's features will improve as the time pass. |

FF since 3 has lost it...
IE 7 is STill the Most Compatible browser to date with the internet.. just update windows to all IE updatesand you see huge stabilty improvements... Chrome at its first outing was soo horendous, i un-installed it in less than 30 min...after downloading it twice.. now the latest chrome is working as a2ndry browser for Ass Lazy sites llke Facebook, and its rendering and loading speed is MUCH MUCH faster than Any otherbrowser to date on a windows platform... Addons and Features will become aviable soon for chrome.. google isnt Stupid, its open sourcing chrome for further dev, however it will monitor and Certify most popular addons so they donot crash chrome.. Waiting Anxiously for IE 8 for Xp..

chrome is an pretty good, but needs a lot of work.
log on o rage3d, click on sys. specs tab and it wont work. there are other places where it fails, like ptcl online subs website. even FF doesnt work there. as for it using a lot of resources, it infact tends to use more memory than FF when u use multiple tabs. For a single tab: Memory Footprint (single tab) Firefox 3.1 - 50MB IE8 - 59MB Chrome - 22MB For 10 tabs: Memory Footprint (ten tabs) Firefox 3.1 - 91MB IE8 - 230MB Chrome - 141MB Better than IE 8, but more than what FF does. it is fast though: Sunspider benchmarks (lower numbers are better) Firefox 3.1 - 1771.4ms IE8 - 6837.6ms Chrome - 1923.0ms figures from: Browser wars |
