On 25th of last month Worldcall started its EVDO service in Karachi. Heard that it'll be coming to Lahore soon.
State of Telecom Industry in Pakistan Affordable Wireless Broadband: EVDO Soft Launch By WorldCall Just got their EVDO 256 package 2 days ago and at the moment it seems way better than my crappy YATEEM WiMax 1024 that literally sucks big time  At the moment i am getting pretty consistent download speed b/w 30-34KB/s & a max connectivity of 275kbps. Not bad at all i must say, though the signal strength is not consistent across the city but still i've the luxury of carrying it in my pocket and use it with any PC  Hope their service wont deteriorate over time.

This is a very well timed post...
I was gonna order Wateen wifi tomorrow... turns out ... I'll wait for this to come to Lahore... Defence... how long do you think it'll take .

wateen just keeps on boasting that our servers are the best I cannot understand the idea what an end user has to do with their good servers until they do not give unlimited bandwidth dUh!!

^ To be honest, i did face some issues during last 2 months, like slow download speed, too frequent and longer down time, connectivity issues etc. For the last couple of days it's been working pretty much OK but not like it used to be initially. Guess we should accept that TROUBLE is our best friend, if we want to live in this country
