Default Yet Another Query About LDN

Ok so today I received my Wireless router after a long wait. Now, I was wondering if I could set up my LDN internet connection myself without the aid of their ever-so-late 'technical team', so I need a little help :P

I connect the router to my phone line, and my laptop with the router via the ethernet cable

Power light - Green

Ethernet 1 light - Green and blinking

Wireless light - Green

DSL light - Green and steady

Internet light - Red

Seems it only failed to get the internet connection on. Now when I open the router web page at 192.168.1.1, it asks me for a user name and a password, LDN gave me a username but no password for it. I tried entering that username with blank password, didn't work out.

So I need the help on how to set internet up Kindly help if its possible to setup an internet connection ( I mean the IP configuration, DNS etc, username and password to access the router page)

If there's something which makes it impossible to setup an internet connection yourself, forgive me for making this thread since I was just curious if this could be done or not

Thanks ya all, and yay I got to 10 posts

When they sent me the router. They already configured my modem. I just had to plug and play.
I never had to configure anything.

But there's a way.
Try to put either of your name, cellphone number or landline number in the pasword field, worth a try!

or the WEP key of router that is: aabbccddee or just type admin the password field!

Thanks alot, started to work But I am getting slow download speeds, only about 22-24 Kb/sec maximum. Any apparent reason for that? or settings may be? Please advise.

Yeah. It happened to me too. They won't speed up your internet, until they visit your residence.

So just hope they turn up soon!

At least you are still getting a better speed compared to Effin expensive dial-up!

PM replied !

and the settings are perfect...i use the same on mine, and get a sweet-arse speed...the problem maybe at the exchange...do ask the LDN customer support to help you !

-peace
stickman!

P.S. do ensure that the phone line going into the modem is DIRECTLY from the pole...make sure the wire has no joints in the middle......it can really hamper your speed !

I'll tell them to go into the next street and see for themselves where the line is coming from lmao

I'm starting to get better speed now, just topped at 58 Kb/sec, lets see where it ends.

P.S; did you get the invite stickman!

Question: do you get 62 round the clock or does it varies? Mine keeps varying between 40 and 55.
