i think ptcl in lhr as some ppl have claimed tht ptcl has better pings then LDN so i think ptcl nt sure abt wateen

thnx fr the info ... but we dnt knw wat ping/lat wateen is givin on int servers ... when wateen launch its own gamin servers then surely wateen users will have best ping there but online its a diff case ... connection nd distance both r dependent :S

I too heard of PTCL having better pings over WC and MBL servers but not about international.

PTCL hands down.

Most of the ISPs have similar routing to the international servers (i.e they buy bulk bandwidth from ITI and go out through there). Gamers run into problems at the last mile connectivity (the way they are connected to their ISP). Normally cable would have lowest ping from the client to ISP premesis, but due to sad state of Worldcall you can only have sub 10 ms ping 1 day out of a month.

LDN configures their DSLAMs in a way that your modem connects to it at the same datarate as your max download speed. For example if I buy a 1 meg connection my modem will connect to them at 1024 kbps down and 256kbps up. This is a simple way to restrict a client at the datarate they are paying for, simple and shitty.

PTCL lets you connect to them at the maximum possible speed that your line allows and restrict your actual bandwidth in the BRAS/NAS.

Bigger the pipe lower the ping. Hope this helps.

and the weird thing is im getting around 270ms on international servers on PTCL with Shiro modem.....but when i try my Aztech modem....the ping goes as high as 360ms which ultimately gets me kicked

When I said sub 10ms ping I mean ping from you to your ISP, as thats where the difference is.. most of the time.

270 to a US east coast server is a very good.
300 or so for a US west coast server
200 or so for an EU server

Thousands of miles of fibre optic and multiple routers will make sure your ping is not lower than the figures above.
