i had liquid nitrogen put on my feet during cryotherapy and the doctors said its -198*C :s

well good work dude....i've got a question

well nos speeds up ur combustion reaction in the car,k...but it doesnt make those pistons go faster,right?and if it doesnt make those pistons go faster than how does the rpm meter suddenly go uppppp.........i hope u got ma question?

Well actually when More oxygen would enter in the chamber, along with more fuel it would mean a Much more Violent reaction, hence creating even more power. So actualy you get a Lot of increase in power i guess, and when it combusts so quickly the pistons move faster i guess and you get more RPM.

I wonder if i am right?

typically in a normal engien in one stroke of the suction process for a vti's engine
it sucks up 0.8LITERS of air
frm which 20% os oxygen ..so i get bout 0.16 L of oxygen in the combustion chamber in one stroke
whn i use nos on my car cuz of NOS freezing the intake air and providing xtra oxygen it self i can cramp bout 0.32L of pure oxygen in the cylinders
now whn i provide the xtra fuel
the reaction wid 0.32L of oxygen will produce TWICE as much power as the reaction wid .16L of oxygen present in the cylinders

now that the engine is makin twice the power
it is easier for it to reach max rpms
thats y rpm's climb rapidly whn using nitrous

in other terms
the pistons r connected to the crankshaft
the tachometer in ur car shows the rpm's of the crankshaft
so in turn rpm's indicate the speed of the pistons
if an engine is programmed to goto 7000rpm's
the pistons will be moving at the same speed at 7000rpms WID OR WIDOUT nos
its jsut that wid nos the engien will be makin more power so itll reach 7000rpm's much faster than widout nos

Oxygen is used in the burning process, but nitrous does nothing, actually it might help to keep the whole thing cool...

well u dun get pure nitrogen out of the reaction
other oxides of nitrogen r formed
YES nitrous oxide DOES cool the air down quite a but its not the actual nitrogen that cools down the air

and it is also used as an anesthetic
