I made a mistake... out of 8 HDDs i played with up till now... I made 1 mistake... Maxtor... you SOB!
I was presented with no choice... I needed a 200GB... there were no alternatives... I waited for 2 months... I'm glad its over...

my 1gig seagate i got in '96 has been dead from years...

my 80gig barracuda is almost dead since last week... got it in '03

i got a used WD 20gig - working fine no probs

a quantum fireball 20gig one gave out after a power surge - but i got that fixed by removing a transistor - working fine since 2001...

bottomline: seagate let me down... but still i think its a good one...

now u guys got me confused. WD or Seagate???

i need to buy a new HD asap. probably a 200gig or 160 sataII one...
bugdet is 4k...

BUT the main question is: seagate or WD??
