I am going to buy LCD for my family budget RS/80000
i am considering Samsung but i am not sure which series to go for 3, 4, 5, or 6 This LCD will be used just to watch TV and sometimes movies..... Suggestions please.

We'll be needing more details about your desired screen size, before we can match it with your budget and series.
 In Rs. 80,000 you can easily get 32" Series 5 (full 1080p). Series 5 in 40" goes well over Rs. 100,000. Series 4 is slightly cheaper for the 40", and comes in at around Rs. 90,000 (85,000 if you go to Abid market instead of the official Samsung dealers). Series 3 is totally not worth it, low contrast ratio, pretty ugly design. Think Series 4 or higher. Series 4 32" is Rs. 55,000. Series 3 32" is Rs. 45,000 (on offer, you may have seen the ads). Series 4 and 3, both 32" and 40" are 720p.  Which is pretty much okay, as 1080p really shines on screen sizes larger than 52" and higher.Any other questions, particularly about technical details, please do shoot, and I'll be happy to answer.

actually series 3 32" is for 59k or 60k at makro. i am more inclined towards
40" but my family think 32 is quite enough :S..

While in most countries you can get the glossy one, the red and black bezel finish for US$ 1,000 = Rs. 80,000. And even then they are getting rid of it, and moving onto Series 7, 8, 9, and LED 6000, 7000, etc. So it all comes down to whether you're willing to pay the extra premium for some extra screen estate. I'd have wholeheartedly recommended it if the prices were right, or you/we were in US, UK, etc.Quote:

One can maybe get it down slightly, of course. This was the matte finish one. The glossy, red and black Crystal design was much higher in price. Either way, I'm interested in how you got the 95k figure. Unless it's a baggage piece, then maybe you can get it for this price.

budget = 80k i can stretch it upto 1 hundred thousand rupees but not more than that.

using a series 3 32" .. pretty happy with it ..considering i got it lower than the market price. . arnd 1300aed (26k rupees) .. worth the money
