doc ... its all AIR COOLED dnt forget that and 42k to be exact is the heighest with ln2 i7 975 n ln2 5870x2 in xfire i guess

but i9 is a mad overclocker with a thermalright ultra extreme 1336 lga n on an open bench is simply mind blowing and see its vcore ... 4.7ghz vantage stable is not easy to achieve with any i7 cpu under air cooler!!!

An SLI of 2x GTX295 with an over clocked i7 CPU achieves 35-40k in graphics test. A single HD5870 gives almost equal performance to a GTX295. IMHO Quad Crossfire of HD5870 should have 60-70k score in graphics portion of 3DMark Vantage.

Either it's
a) A major bottleneck.
b) All that multi-core processing performance of most expensive processors is phail
c) Quad SLI/Quad Crossfire is epic phail if adding more VGA cards doesn't provide 1.5-2.0x increase in performance per GPU.

42986 to be exact and with 4x285gtx + i7 975 extreem
all under ln2
cpu doing 5ghz (source hwbot)

where as this benches r UNDER EFFIN AIR .. AIR ... AIR!!!
4.7ghz i9 i have yet to see any i7 doing 4.6ghz vantage stable under air!!!

Bhai what I meant by fail was that the platform is not giving full performance. Adding more than two VGA cards the performance gets saturated and doesn't scale further.

What good is a 1000-1200 USD CPU is if it can't eliminate the bottleneck even when over clocked to 4.7-5.0GHz.

Flagship of i9 might be 20-40% faster on average then an i7 CPU but not more. Nowadays hardware giants are just milking the cow and they release new sockets/CPU even when previous ones are giving pretty OK performance. I don't see 20-40% performance gain as a motivating factor for someone (other than showoffs like Kayawish) to dump their previous system. It's just not worth the money IMO.

80-100% increase in performance (even if it takes four to five years in R&D) over previous generation of Processors is what I would like to see but it won't happen as it won't benefit Intel/AMD that much.

My E8400, and 8800GTS, autoselected 1680x1080 rs and Max detail on EVERYTHING in FEAR2, and gave over 100FPS..... also anon and Farcry2 run at 1680 with 2x AA, on the same system with great ease..

just 1/30 of the price of the entire setup in this thread..and performance to boot.. i always plan to upgrade to new GPU, but every game i wana play runs Smeewwwthh on my setup, and then i change my mind ..
