According to my rather limited knowledge Core i9/i7/i5 series of processors are for desktop computing. Workstation processors goes by a different name generally Xeon by Intel or Opteron by AMD (although there are some similarities between architecture of both breeds). So yeah these core i5/i7/i9 CPU are used by US/desktop owners

Milky way one consists of Xeon processors (in clusters) not "over clocked" (air/ln2) core i9 or i7 processors.

Here is 3Dmark Vantage P-Score (Graphics subtest only) of one HD5870 with Non Overclocked Core i7 965
Radeon HD 5870 Review

The score that you posted (which is supposed to show over clocking potential of "mighty" core i9 at 4.7GHz) consists of 42k marks in graphics subtest of a quad crossfire of HD5870. should I say OMFG this iz teh most awesome processor ever and such a huge score even knowing that it's giving performance of two and a half HD5870 when using four HD5870. Isn't crossfire scaling phail in this case?

That core i9 is being fed steroids (1.46v in this case) and over clocked to insane frequencies just for show off. I doubt if it will last any more than 8-10 months when used at that frequencies/voltages and exposed to that temperature for 24/7 usage. Why over clock a CPU that much when one is not going to use it at that clock speed for every day usage.

It's just a showoff attempt and a poor one IMO. Would have been more acceptable if this benchmark run had three HD5870 and produced similar scores.
