Shameless attempt by Punjab Government. There is already nothing much left in Lahore than pollution and mismanagement. Most of the times any person who visited Lahore either from outside Lahore or from outside Pakistan, got "Visiting Lahore's food street" in their "Must do" things. Just to undermine the credit of PML Q and Local Government, PML N did what they do best, made fool out of themselves.

There was no problem of traffic even is rush hours of the day around food street. Bloody senseless high court and SC are already on pay scale of N league, so we pretty much screwed a good hangout place simply because of politics. Instead of banning these places, Punjab Government should ban all BLOODY madrassas in Lahore, that will do much help to the image and future of this country.

I agree completely..Everyone i know who comes to lahore from anywhere, especially abroad DEFINITLY wants to go to food street.. not only for food, but also as a tourist spot.. and besides, it was very well maintained. proper dressing, good security, good seating arrrangement, lots of variety of food. and technically, there was parking on both sides of the street, and that road working times are almost over when food street starts..so no question of it being a traffic whore..


Bad Bad Move.. i think there will be enuff protest against it to stop it..hopefully there would be protest..

Another Food Street will soon open, at a different place, this time carrying Shehbaz Sharif's name. That's all it's being done for. Bad move by Punjab government.

This, I’ve realized only recently, when I was (and still) looking for some recreational activities. All you can do is to go out and EAT I have never been a big fan of Food Street but hell, what do they want us to do in our spare time in case we are not interested in playing cricket anymore at those overly congested grounds?

Guy Guys you all have to realize that there are no angels in the real world. Yes we Pakistanis always have a choice but it will always be "lesser of the two evils'. I suggest instead of taking up petty issues like this you highlight the good steps of our current CM.

Trust me, no one gives a f*** about Food Street. Everyone however does care about law and order, medicine and health, food, getting rid of qabza groups and police which does something. Shahbaz Sharif has a record to delivering on all these subjects (relatively speaking) and his current tenure is a testament to this.

Tell me what would you rather want? Rs. 2/roti or good food street? Infact you people are the wrong audience for this question. I suggest you guys ask this from your servants and then post here

I personally like food street alot! whenever I visit Lahore! my first priority is to hang out at food street before moving to other places! its sooo famous here ! sad they are turning it down!

its bad, food street got shut down just bcoz it was opened by PML-Q.

think about the families whose income just stopped, i read in the newspaper that almost 2000 families will be affected by this bad move by Punjab Govt.

first of all, no one is forcing anyone to go eat there.. its free choice..

2nd, diarhea , agreed.. that again is dependant upon your stomach as well.. most people get no problems at all... only those with weak stomach and poor immunity, (mummy daddy kids, Burger families) get diarhea,...cuz they are unable to digest/absorb pakistani spicy traditional food..

At least, you’re going to have Port Grand Food Street soon enough, it’s going to be an awesome place. I hope there will be no hiccups and the things will turn out as planned.
