havoc at worldcall forums Karachi

Hello,
just thought everyone should know how sad the admins at worldcall karachi are.. all senior members from the forums have been banned.. all uploaders demoted except one of the admins friends.. and apparantly everyone has been warned..oh yes and they have been going all haywire with the admin panel keeping lame custom titles for some members and keeping lame pictures in profiles of others..

hmmm ..
well that has been going on for a while now.. both parties are partly to blame.
one for thinking that "forums" are place to share every little thing they have on their mind regardless of the nature of their posts...
While other who thinks they're the Gods of the forum, just because they can access the admin control panels.. and yes ofcourse, they can ban people

I'll bring everyone up to speed:
1: Admin bans a senior member who also serves as an uploader.
2: People Riot over this.
3: Accused demots himself.
4: Dormant Employed (by WC) Admin awakes and bans two more people (Huzi here included )
5: People Riot again.
6: Current Admin demotes the rioters.
7: Most of them included uploaders.
8: Uploaders have stopped uploading.
9: Current Admin says he'll get uploading started regardless of current uploaders.
10: People are still whining and rioting.

that's about it.

I still don't get what exactly got this entire thing started? What do you mean when you say that people who share every 'little' thing that's on their mind? Aren't forums supposed to accomodate that, unless of course they were 'spamming'?

the whole thing started .. when mod started bashing the admin on his well.. let's just say physical and mental attributes :P

He got banned. The whole ruckus started from there on out.

Currently, majority of people got banned as well. That includes uploaders and regular contributors to the forum. All I can say is that situation isn't looking good. Two things could happen, one the mod panel would bow down and apologize while restating previous mods and uploaders, Two, they won't give a damn about anyone and start banning anyone who goes against their formulated rules and regulations (which negates cursing the mods in light of any protest over any thing).

The second one looks more likely, people just don't bow that that easily nowadays. But yes it did start from a ridiculous reason, it just people who don't know how to control there own strength.

Yes I would also like to know, what is the URL for the Karachi forums as I have always thought there was one website with all the cities combined. Maybe someone can solve this.

Thyhammer ... The scenario that you have given misses one point "Respect" ... When a few admins start believing they are higher beings .. then one has to question them

And this masla has been brewing for almost a year ... i dont think one given incident could have set off 50 people

Yaar bhai.. All I saw was.. Forsee got banned.. d3ad got rallied .. he (self proclaimed) quit.. lestat banned others and that's it... the whole outcome of this situation was that people who were receiving regular uploads, aren't receiving them anymore.. For Admins, that can be changed by employing couple of people from the current community and giving them uncapped connections.

That's it.

Although I agree, the situation has been brewing since WC WOW times, but the fact is.. d3ad is not a WC employee. Person responsible held the older management, who wasn't employed with WC, in place. That was wrong. Ofcourse, if I am doing something, which was part of my previous job (and for which i sourced compensation), for free, I would be more or less unconfirmatable with it. Changes in my attitude would be far obvious compared to the time when I was employed. Current Management should've taken risks like these in consideration before making such a reckless decision.

The whole point which you wanted to portray got lost in all of your discussions. You guys wanted to be acknowledged, which, in the end, didn't work out. More or less, I consider it was all futile. d3ad is still in admin block, you guys aren't (although you were), uploads will still be made (regardless of your attempts, lestat considered it as Blackmail, and I kind of agree with him). In the end it all comes down to the fact, that you aren't in the community anymore and community is still functioning without you. Few senior members or even all senior members aren't solely responsible for the establishment and presence of a community, however they do play significant role in bringing the community to a particular point. In view of Admins (new / old) and Mods, they're expendable.

That's how I view the situation.

Notes to non-WC readers:
- Flames and Curses flew from both side of the table however majority of them originated from uploaders and other rioters. I can understand they were pissed and all, but most of them got banned with that particular behaviour as an excuse warranting an action.
