yaar price as i have mentioned is about Rs.8k-9k cuz its selling on newegg for $110 newegg. But the real issue is in order to use the full potential of the router u need to buy the reciver PCMCIA card whcih supports MIMO technology aswell for yur laptop. so that adds like extra $60-$70 to your budget.

and about the range. The range definitely increases when u use the mimo setup.

and the region/range u specified u wud be able to recievet he signal and browse the net. However tranferring the files between the LAN might be a bit too slow. If the router is placed at a central location int he house, the range is maximized.

while using the Asus WL-566gm a found a drawback. It appears that the router does not support a protocol called "IP Sec". This protocol is widely used in the VPNs of the many corporate Organizations. I found the setback when a cousin of mine wanted to log onto the IBM vpn and he cudnt. so i had to check and as it turned out the o
router did not support IP sec. This cud be a major blow to Asus's product sale ambitions in the corporate secter.

I think a newer firmware could solve this issue but the so far the even the latest firmware doesnt have IP Sec support. Let see if future firmware updates may inlcude that

It is not in the list of DD-Wrt for the hacked firmware to increase the range of coverage area.
