It happened during the cold war when US bases were established in Peshawar and now US Govt. again is at it.
As we already know that US Embassy in Islamabad is expanding and has already acquired and built compound to house at least 1000 more residents but the official claim comes to be that they are all embassy employees. Now through the people I know in Telenor, US Embassy already gave a list of 600 numbers to Telenor Pakistan and they are going to give 400 more numbers list which they will need in the days to come. So is that US Govt. is getting the Marines housed within the capital city of Pakistan. What is the point of denial from our government when even a cellular company employee knows this. Moreoever, I came to know about this other piece of news over a month back and discussed it with Kursed i.e. US Govt. has bought PC Peshawar and the adjoining land to make the biggest US counselate in Peshawar. Why do they need it when they already have over 1000 people in their embassy in Islamabad? The discussion is open now... |

In a recent episode of Capital Talk (maybe 24th Aug) they were having a debate on the same topic.
There seems to be some suspicious activities going around for at least a year or so with so many people confirming the news (starting from the presence of US marines in Marriot hotel at the time of blast), however the Govt representatives are denying this the whole time. Even in the program, Shireen Mizari stated that she has information from a reliable source that US is going to have a new base somewhere near Tarbela (she said that she’s so sure that she can bet her life on this one) still the PPP minister denied any such deal between Pak and US.

US already has built up training facilities at Tarbela, which are used to train a battalion+ men of heli-borne SOTF (special operations task force), born out of SSG. [If you'd read about a recent acquisition of 5 Mi-17s by Pakistan from the US, now you know what they were meant for].
And they're giving CQB training to FC soldiers and making a new SSG-styled commando unit out of their regular officers / men. My laptop has currently gone bonkers, else I'd have shared picture of one such FC soldier undergoing the training. So got to wait for a few days for material evidence. In addition to that, all four provinces of Pakistan will soon start recruiting ex-SSG and early retirees from different special units of the military, in order to raise a new anti-terrorist outfit, numbering close to 100,000. These men too are scheduled to be trained at these facilities.

If the whole purpose is to train our army and SSG then it will take what 200-500 people to train 1 group after that they can train couple of more groups and then people from trainee group can teach rest of them. We already are facing problems from Afghanistan due to Indian influence, in our entire history of 63 years our politician our foreign policy was/is entirely dependant on USA and now after 63 years when our nation finally decided to start hooting against D I C K-TATORS BlackWater will set its foot on our soil.

I don't mind foreigners coming to my country. Does USA, Britain or Canada mind throngs of immigrants from Pakistan? Lets be a little accomodating. Maybe the americans who arrive and live in Pakistan will notice all the wilfull maltreatment done to the masses by our government and hopefully get annoyed by our politicians. Maybe they'll kill them all or uproot their monopoly over us through "lota-cracy" aka "jumhoori aamriyut" and do the nation a big favor.

I only explained what the facts on the ground are. None of that was my 'opinion'.

Bro I believe our nuclear assets aren't exactly sitting in a garden like cherries waiting for some Americans to come along and pick them up.
Secondly, it can't be done without the consent of our army who is always vigilant of such things and doesn't close its eyes to the politicians or any such developments. Thirdly, if they have all actually decided to hand over our nuclear assets then its already too late. What can the nation do anyway? We're like sitting in a dentist's chair and we should be thankful that we're allowed to complain and thats all we can do. Our choices are to pick either muslim league filling or people party filling and sometimes the dentist sees that a martial law root canal is necessary. Our religion tooth went bad and took some work, our wisdom tooth got lost somewhere during the process.

A person who is working in a HVAC firm told me that they are doing some huge project in Jocobabad which is a military base(according to him for the americans) with two 3.5MW turbines for power generation. I wonder what the Pakistan government is up to. Soon we'll here innocent people being detained and dissapearing

PAF will be housing all of its new F-16 Block 52 planes at PAF air base Shehbaz (Jacobabad), in underground hangers - hence the heavy duty work. The entire airbase is being revamped.
And the air base is being made according to US specifications, therefore more 'shooshaa' than usual.
