Eventually, people forget about such brutal acts, committed by others. These kind of people should go through a trial, and should be punished severely, such that nobody else would dare to repeat others blunder. Pakistani Women are still treated like trash in our rural areas, and we are doing nothing to save them. We do not support human rights activists much, which is why we read these kind of stories, now and then... |

Apparently it was a money/land related killing and not "honor" killing. |

God know if she will get justice after death. Around the world women are treated as second class citizen, unfortunately this is not just Pakistan.

There was a river in a country. People use to swim a small patch of the river to go to the other side. King of that country made a bridge on that river for the ease of his countrymen. People were quite happy with this decision and everyone praised the King. After a few months, King thought to add some tax on bridge. He was a bit reluctant but thought that if people will resist, he will take the decision back. He appointed a tax collector on the bridge who collected Rs5 from each passer by. Nothing happened, just a minor yelling from some people. After a while it settled down and everything was back to normal. The bridge became quite popular and more and more people started using it. After a couple of months, King thought to increase the tax. He doubled the tax to Rs.10 and thought that if people will resist too much, he will take the decision back. Again he did not see any serious resistant and after a while whatever resistance was there, settled down. After a few months, King went to the river and saw people crossing the bridge. He thought what a great facility the bridge is for the people and decided to add another tax on it. This time it was not money, but it was "chitter" [or slap]. He announced that apart from giving Rs.10, every passerby will received a "chitter". He implemented the new rule and told the tax collector to start hitting "chitters" straight away. Next day he woke up with 1000s of people screaming outside his palace. He thought that he is screwed now and went to his balcony. A representative of the people came forward and said to the King "You made a bridge for us which was very beneficial to us. You imposed Rs5 tax on it, at first it looked a lot but then we were comfortable with it. Even we were OK with Rs10 as the bridge was quite helpful to us. But now you are giving 'chitter' to every passer by. For god sake, please hire another person for giving 'chitter'. One person takes a lot of time for this activity". This might be a re post, but the above story exactly maps the thinking of majority of Pakistani people. |

This made me laugh a bit. But it's so true, Our people are not bothered by the torture, they're being given by the government. All they care about is their needs, and... their SELVES. One has to start thinking for others... for the sake of humanity. |
