ok here is how it goes
when intel made c2d they made intel pentium dual core e2xxx series which were based on same architecture as conroe juts 1mb less cache now e2xxxx has been replaced with e5xxx which is based on penryn and it contains again 1mb less cache then lowest penryn thats e7200 in short this is how penryn substituted conroe e5xxx for e2xxx e7xxx for e4xxx e8xxx for e6xxx q9xxx for q6xxx

while the cores may be resembling those higher in the family tree... there will always be limitation to the core architecture, and besides, the Bus, the cache, and blah blah...
as been reported all over the web, the OCed processor will match those higher in the family... sure... great.. how about we compare bare performance on default?? good, no?... Okeyzz,, we OC the 5xxx, to 4ghz, and THEN match performance with an E8200...now we take the same old, poor ducty E8200/8400, and OC the hell out of it to 4ghz.. it can be Oced to 4.2-4.4 but for "Educational purpose" 4ghz for even competition.. do you really think that the 5xxx @4ghz can even dare to match performance with a E8200@4ghz...??? nuff said.. 27 cents..

OBVIOUSLY WE CANT COMPETE A MACHO KID WITH A PRO WRESTLER :d

regarding all genre of the processors, there is a huge amount of difference.. Contrary to popular method of debates in tech posts, i don't favor or advocate Copy pasting from other sites, and debating like fan boys, .. instead it should all be about practical results and personal experience we all should share.. i personally am against OC totally, and don't recommend it , but since no benchmarking and stress test,, and any Argument does on without OC, here is the lo down Processors of a feather flock together..and thus the series number will usually tell where the processor is intended to be,and what market it is targetting, and what kind of performance should be expected from it.. and as very well pointed by nofel, Quote:
just like Intel is promoting the ATom wildly here in pakistan, expect the most silent approach from intel about this processor.. this will come, and go ,.. it is just a gap filler, to wipe out the celeron family totally, and that's its role only..

you should upgrade to this processor if you want more OC power and lesser electricity as well as no heat issues even with stock cooler
