Default m4r to mp3 converter?

I downloaded a couple of ringtones, but they are in m4r format (which i guess is used in iphone), but i can't use them in my cell till I convert them to mp3.

I downloaded MP3 converter , but when I try to open the m4r file through it, it gives an error that the format is not suported/i need a codec. But Windows Media Player can play the same file (after giving me a warning that the format might not be supported), but it DOES play it.. so i guess that means I already have the codec?

So any suggestions?

Or any other software that can convert m4r to mp3?

I have tried using the same program to convert my m4r to mp3. I load the file to convert and choose the "MP3 for Phones" and then convert. It states the conversion completed successful, but my 500KB file is then converted to a 2KB file. I also tried "MP3 (audio only)" and got the same result. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

which program are you using? the one that I mention in my first post or the one that Stickman has recommended?

Go for the one which the Stickman has recommended. I just used it to convert a 900kb m4r to a 230kb mp3.

Try using the "Expert mode" as it gives you a little more control and options.

1. check if the .m4r files you have, actually work...maybe they're just other format, just renamed or sth...

2. the latest QMC should do the trick otherwise...ive converted a lot of files through this, and had no problem...from m4r's to 3gp's ...

im sorry i cant help further, 'cause i havent faced any problem..

I have pm'ed u the steps I do to convert the file and the name of the codecs that i am using.

I also like Stickman's suggestion, maybe the file that you are trying to convert is corrupt, try to convert another file.

Also if you are using an older version of the program, that might also be a problem.
