Force Close Unresponsive App On iPhone, iPad – How To
Here’s how you can force close an unresponsive app on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
There are chances that you would download an app from the App Store, launch it, and after a few second or odd minutes, the app will become completely unresponsive for reasons unknown. At this point, there’s nothing at all you can do except force restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, making you load everything up from scratch.
Not an ideal situation if you’re asking us.
So what if you want to force quit the app instead without having to restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? Today, we’ll show you how you can do just that in a few and simple steps.
Force Close Unresponsive App On iPhone, iPad
1. With the unresponsive app being on screen, press and hold the ‘Power’ button on your iOS device till you see the ‘Slide to power off’ prompt. Let go of the power button at this point.
2. With the ‘Slide to power off’ screen still in view, press and hold on the ‘Home’ button for a few second till the screen goes away.
You’ll notice that you’re now at your iOS device’s home screen and the unresponsive app has been force closed. As an extra precautionary step we would suggest users to double press on the ‘Home’ button and kill the app from the app switcher as well.
You can now either relaunch the app, reinstall it, uninstall it, or go back to doing whatever you might be before the app had an on-screen seizure. But the end result is a very simple one – you didn’t have to force restart your entire device just for one measly app or game that gave up the ghost on you.
