Facebook iOS App Update Now Comes With Emoticons And Privacy Features

The Facebook iOS app has been updated today. The update brings over quite a few features that were added recently to the social network’s web version. Facebook iOS app version 6.2 has now been released and is readily available for download from iTunes App Store. Facebook’s recent web version updates included the addition of emoticons and status icons, as well as various new privacy related features.

The update brings a number of new privacy features. Users will now be able to change the privacy settings of status updates, photos or links after they have been posted. The posts will now contain a drop-down arrow, which upon being tapped will reveal the privacy settings. The update also brings ability to change privacy settings of old posts. Status icons and emoticons come with this update as well.


Emoticons are actually selected once the user has finished composing a status update. The user selects them to indicate to their friends what mood they are in, or what they are reading, watching etc. Currently these status icons are only available in English only.
