PSLS have caught some very interesting screenshots English localized of Bandai Namco’s Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, a turn-based JRPG that’s received a tremendous following in Japan. This means that work is underway to bring this titular title to the west.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth localized shots reassure us that Digimon is still alive and well in the west.

Cyber Sleuth was released in Japan on March 12th 2015 for the PS4 and PS Vita. It’s been praised for the very detailed environments and fun turn-based gameplay. Despite being primarily something that appeals to the younger generations, the story is apparently quite good and appeals to all ages. That and the music, of course an important element, is done well.

It was revealed back in July that Bandai Namco had plans to localize it and release it elsewhere, though no news had come since then. Now we have some great looking screenshots of the PS4 version, showing some fun looking gameplay.

Digimon, the unique digital monster franchise, has been around for a very long time, first entering the world in 1997 as a small 16×16 pixel digital pet. Since then, it’s evolved into a complex media franchise with over 35 video games, nine movies and a plethora of other media.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth follows Aiba, a teenager that’s chasing rumors of a group of hackers doing tremendous harm to the world. After receiving a Digimon Capture device from one of those hackers they’re chasing, the digital and real worlds become increasingly blurry.
