Creative Assembly has released a new video that shows us the direction they’re taking to properly represent the proud Dwarfen race in Total War: Warhammer.

The diminutive Dwarfs of Warhammer make a minute appearance in a new introduction video.

It’s nice to see a steady stream of videos that show us the progress being made in Total War: Warhammer. Creative Assembly is showing us developmental footage to let us see the inspiration they’ve taken from the miniatures in the Warhammer series. They wish to properly take the already richly modeled universe and make it something longtime fans can be proud of, while also sparking an interest in those that may have never even heard of Warhammer.

This video focuses on Longbeards, Ironbreakers and Hammerers, which are three melee units who exemplify the Dwarfen combat style with their ornate axes and hammers. The Dwarfs are one of the four playable races in the initial launch of Total War: Warhammer. Dwarfs themselves are expert miners and craftsmen who labor intensely in ancient forges where centuries of hereditary knowledge are transmogrified into some very splendid arms and armor.

Total War: Warhammer is scheduled for release sometime in 2016, and they are hard at work bringing some very novel ideas into the Total War franchise. This could perhaps help to strengthen the brand and also bring Warhammer to the masses. It certainly could do very well in this particular genre. We’ll bring you any news as soon as it becomes available.
