tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 3 for Apple TV 4 Released
Alongside iOS 10.1 Developer Beta 3, Apple has seeded the third beta of tvOS 10.0.1 to developers as well. The download is available over the air and directly from the Apple Developer Program website, both. If you have the beta installed already then you should take the OTA route to keep yourself up to date.
In order to update right away, first of all turn on your Apple TV 4 unit. Once it is done booting up, open the Settings app. Scroll all the way down to System and then select Software Updates. Download and install all the available software updates for your Apple TV unit. And since the Apple TV 4 packs some powerful hardware therefore you can expect the installation to go through at a good pace. But remember not to tinker around or play with your Apple TV unit during the download and installation process. It’s important that everything flows extremely smooth.
If you’re a developer (or not) and want to give tvOS 10.0.1 a try on your Apple TV 4, then you can download the pre-release bits from the Apple Developer Program website. Furthermore, since you’ll be restoring the software using iTunes, therefore you need to source yourself a USB Type-A to Type-C cable in order to connect your Apple TV 4 with your computer. You can easily find one of these on Amazon or even at your local retailer, if you’re lucky enough.
Whether you’re a developer or not, you should keep your Apple TV 4 updated at all times. This ensures you get the maximum performance benefit out of the latest software release. And if you want to take things up a notch, then you can take the more difficult route of installing tvOS software every single time using iTunes. We will not recommend this route though, but in return you’ll get a piece of software that functions like a boss!
Who doesn’t want that, right?
