Good news for ROM makers, Android themers and downloaders! Samsung has finally released the much awaited Android 4.1 Jellybean source code for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and AT&T’s Galaxy Note 2. For those who are unaware, every manufacturer is liable under open-source policy to release the code for general public usage. Although this might not be any thing to cheer about for average Android users, but ROM chefs and tweakers get a lot of help with these code chunks.
After the release of any Android based device’s source-code, lot of new ROMs and tweaks start emerging on various forums like XDA, RootzWiki etc. So far, Samsung has been the most compliant manufacturer with Android’s GPL and has been releasing source codes for all their devices at regular intervals.
