Apple has seeded OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan beta 1 to developers. The new pre-release download is available directly from the Apple Developer Program website.

El capitan

OS X 10.11 El Capitan is all set for release on the 30th of September, and the Golden Master candidate build has already been seeded to developers. But in an interesting turn of events, Apple has just seeded the first beta of OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan, which also signals towards the fact that the company is way ahead of its desktop operating system development schedule and is already working on future releases of the OS.

The new beta carries a build number of¬†15B17c and is available for download directly to those who are enrolled in Cupertino’s Apple Developer Program. At this point, it’s unclear what the new build brings with it. But we’re downloading it on one of our Macs as we speak to dig right in and see what the company has packed into its new pre-release software for the desktop.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan

It’s actually not surprising that Apple is already working on OS X 10.11.1, given how iOS 9.1 beta 1 was released immediately after iOS 9 GM was made available to developers. At this point in time, we can only speculate what the new build of El Capitan brings with it. Our gut feeling tells us that OS X 10.11.1 is a pure bug fix and performance enhancing build, nothing more, nothing less.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan is currently available to download as a GM build, and will be available to everyone else on the 30th of September. Given how stable OS X 10.11 El Capitan is in its current form, it begs to be noted here that Apple is not resting easy when it comes to the refinement of its desktop OS.

We’re sure OS X 10.11.1 is one of many point updates which we’ll get to see in the year to come, so be sure you’re ready to update your Mac as soon as they arrive.

Since OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan is in its pre-release stages, hence we recommend everyone to install it on a Mac which is not their daily driver, as beta software tend to be very rough around edges where we least expect them to be.

When will OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan will see the light of day is anyone’s guess at this point in time, but if you’re a developer, then we recommend that you get downloading straight away!
