You can now download the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app for your iPhone, iPad or Android device. We have the complete details as well as the direct download links.

Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App Lets Parents Take Full Control Over the Switch Remotely

Apart from announcing key details regarding the Nintendo Switch back in January, the company also revealed that parents will be able to monitor and control the console remotely using an app. That app, called Nintendo Switch Parental Controls, allows a parent to set a bunch of parameters remotely, and even control what sort of content their kid is currently into. Today, the app is available to download for both major platforms, namely iOS and Android.

Nintendo Switch Parental Controls™ is a free app for smart devices to keep you engaged with your family’s gaming activities on Nintendo Switch.
◆ A Nintendo Switch console is required to use this app.

This is recommended for people worried about things such as:
1. Is my child spending too much time playing games?
2. What kind of games is my child playing?
3. Are the games my child is playing age-appropriate?

If you are a parent and just bought your kid a Switch, then it’s a no-brainer to download this app and can track of things remotely if you so wish. The app is absolutely free to download and use, but of course, you need a Switch in the equation, obviously.

Simply tap on the links below to head straight to the respective platform’s download page.

Using the app, you can set a timer for how long your kid will be able to play games. Once that timer is up, you will see a notification on the display, after which your kid, in theory, should turn off the console and head on to the next task. But if, for some reason, the notification is ignored, the parent will be notified on his iOS or Android device. The parent can take immediate action by shutting down the console remotely. That’s rather savage, if you’re asking me. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.

There’s a lot more from where that came from, and the app is pretty useful in numerous ways. For example, you can even set what type of games your kid should play on the console, given his or her age. Basically, it’s a must-have app for any parent out there.
