Android 6.0 Marshmallow Factory Image For Nexus 6P Now Available To Download

Google announced two Nexus devices a while back, breaking away from its age-old habit of keeping just one smartphone in the market for one whole year. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are the two handsets that will be adorning the shelves for the year to come, with the latter of the two devices being the more powerful, and of course, the most expensive one. And just like the Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6P also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, whose factory image file is now available to download directly from the Mountain View company as well.

Having a factory image of a particular device at your disposal is a great thing if you’re afraid of the fact that something might go wrong with your smartphone or tablet on the software end. With the factory image, you can simple revert things to their original state, just like how the situation used to be when you first took your device out of the box. Also keep in mind that flashing a factory image onto a device is not everyone’s task, and requires a user to have little to explicit knowledge regarding ADB and Fastboot. If you’re not aware of those two at all, then we highly recommend that you either source a friend or family member who are, or, you take the time out to turn yourself into an ADB / Fastboot ninja. We will, of course, recommend that you take the latter route, as ADB and Fastboot are two things which all pro Android users should know about.

Nexus 6P Can Be Purchased With A Decent $150 Discount

As we mentioned above, the factory image is available to download directly from Google itself, but for your convenience we’ve added the direct links to the download below.

It’s unclear at this point what is the difference in between the two images which Google has posted to its developer website. But if the Nexus 5X factory images are anything to go by, then we’re guessing that both have absolutely minor differences in between them.

The Nexus 6P will ship out soon to users and we highly recommend that you download the factory images beforehand onto your computer.
