Olympics fever is in the air! Millions of people from around the world will flock to London in order to watch Olymic games of 2012. While scoring tickets remains a genuine headache, for some it is just impossible to travel thousands of miles from home in order to watch their favourite athletes in action at the Olympics. Not to worry though, you can watch 2012 Olympics on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch by downloading the BBC Olympics app on your iOS device.
BBC is one of the most respected broadcasting media outlets in the world. Surely it would have felt odd if the British Broadcasting Company had not done anything special with regards to the Olympics happening this year in Britain. The folks at BBC seem to think along these lines as well. They have released a great app specifically for the 2012 Olympics.
There is a little caveat though. BBC’s broadcast of it’s coverage has certain limitations. Therefore majority of the content found in this application is exclusive to residents of the UK only. Nevertheless, the BBC have released an international version of it’s app as well, for those who do not reside in the UK.
Through the app, users can watch 2012 Olympics on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as up to 24 livestreams will be accessible. The app can also be used to keep track of scores as well as those adrenaline fuelled medal moments. Live and on demand video will be available over both 3G and WiFi.
The best part is that BBC Olympics app for iOS devices is available as a free download from iTunes App Store. You require an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that is capable of running iOS 5.0 or higher firmware. Sadly, there is no native version for the iPad yet, the iPhone version can be run on the iPad in 2x magnified mode. So, who’s excited for 27th of July?!
