So, there you are, relaxing on your favorite sofa, sipping on that cup of coffee. But, bam! There it is. That annoying Progress Update notification on your Apple Watch, telling you how well you’ve been doing throughout your day, or if you’re lucky, even get a view of your Weekly Summary. Useful information nonetheless, but it’s a ghost notification if you’re asking us, making users believe they’ve received an important message, but in actuality, it’s just an Activity update. And to top things off, you can’t deny the annoyingness of the ‘Time to Stand’ message. If you want to get rid of all that, and only want to see just your notifications on your Apple Watch, then you’ve come to the right place, as we’ll show you how to disable Activity related notifications completely.

Disable Apple Watch Activity Notifications Completely

1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. In iOS 9, the same app is called ‘Watch.’

2. Now scroll down to the ‘Activity’ option and tap on it.

You’re now done. You won’t see a single Activity related message or notification on your Apple Watch anymore, and that includes those frustrating ‘Time to Stand’ pings as well.

While the Apple Watch is a great fitness tracker when compared to its competition out there, turning off these notifications somewhat kills the purpose of having Cupertino’s wearable, since these updates play a vital role in making sure that users stay motivated and remain active throughout the day. But if you rely on just the notification credentials of the Apple Watch and not on its health and fitness aspect one bit, then turning off Activity notifications is the way to go.

The Apple Watch disrupted the smartwatch market when it went on sale for consumers this year. With many models choose from, Apple has catered to the fitness fanatics by releasing the Sport model of the wearable, all the way up to the Edition model for those who love their life wrapped around in gold.
