Dark Souls 3 Steam Pre-load Now Available, File Size Revealed
The wait has been quite long, but soon Western fans of the Dark Souls series will soon be able to enjoy the new entry of the series, Dark Souls 3. With the game launching in a few days, many were wondering when they could be able to pre-load the game on Steam. If you’re among them, we have some very good news for you.
Several reports have confirmed that Dark Souls 3 is now available for pre-load on Steam. The total file size is around 17 GB, so the download will surely be over in time for the game’s April 12th release.
Even though the PC version has yet to be released in any region, we have managed to see plenty of it thanks to streamers who have received an early copy from publisher Bandai Namco. According to some of these streamers, the PC version of the game runs mostly fine, but the game might suffer from some performance issues in late game areas. As Dark Souls 3 might receive a day one patch on PC, we don’t know if players will have to deal with these issues at launch.

The video features a performance test for a variety of preset graphics settings, allowing players to check out how the game looks and runs. Dark Souls 3 is now available in Japan on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will finally hit PC and consoles in North America and Europe on April 12th.
