With the iPhone 6 undoubtedly being the company’s biggest launch this year, Apple is far from calling it a day for it’s portfolio for 2014. The company still has two new iPad models and a brand new OS X Yosemite in store for us. Well, several sources have reportedly learned about Apple’s next launch event and both give the same month – November.

AppleInsider reports a source familiar with Apple’s pre-launch logistics claiming that the company has set internal marketing and project deadlines for mid October. Previous speculations and rumors have also put the iPad launch dates around October, and AppleInsider claims that the source is reliable and has provided accurate information in the past as well.

Apple’s Next Media Event Get’s Speculated Launch Date Of October 21st

AppleInsider is not the only one with the inside scoop on the matter it seems though. DailyDot also has some news for us regarding the launch of iPad Air and iPad Mini. Apart from narrowing down the alleged month of the event, the website also has a date for it.

Apple will reportedly hold it’s next media event on October 21st. This follows last year’s event for the iPad Air and iPad Mini which had a launch date of October 22nd. As usual, the only definitive piece of information available regarding the source of this information is that the individual is ‘close’ to the matter.

We are possibly just minutes away from the launch of iOS 8 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. However, when you hit that install button to upgrade to the latest OS, make sure you don’t enable iCloud Drive – just yet!icloud drive in iOS 8

RELEASED: Apple Releases iOS 8 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch!

Why not to enable iCloud Drive in iOS 8:

iCloud Drive is a part of Apple’s continuity features that will be launched with iOS 8. Like Google Drive or Dropbox, it lets you share files across apps on multiple iOS and OS X devices. However, iCloud Drive is onlycompatible with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. Which means once you enable this feature on say, your iPhone, you won’t be able to sync with your Mac which cannot be on Yosemite as it is not yet publicly released.

This important and very timely alert comes through Nick Fletcher of Realmac Software who explains the importance of opting out of this one feature when upgrading to iOS 8:

Apple will launch a thinner MacBook near the end of this year or early next year, claims a report from Digitimes. This report is based on the sources from supply chain in Taiwan which suggests that production of thinner MacBook components have already begun in smaller volumes to be ready for the launch by the end of the year. As earlier shared, Cupertino will stop the production of 13-inch MacBook Pro by this year – the line hasn’t been updated since June 2012. thinner MacBook

Ultra-slim thinner MacBook with Retina:

Dropping the non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro has become quite essential for the company as it is movingtowards dropping all the non-Retina products and introducing the beautiful display in each of its products. Reports earlier had indicated Apple working on an ultra-thin 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display which will help the company find a middle ground between 11-inch and the 13-inch models, also creating a notebook that is distinctive from its tablets.

Apple made OS X Yosemite Beta 1 for public available a couple hours ago. With this first public beta iteration of the Mac OS X, there are obviously a few OS X Yosemite errors that need to be fixed. It should, however, be noted that if you are facing some download error, it could very well be because of the insane amount of users trying to download the latest OS X 10.10 right now. With this revived expectation of Apple working on a new 4K Thunderbolt desktop (there is also an indication that this could be a new iMac with 4K support instead of the Thunderbolt 2 display), here comes the first concept of the beautiful 4K thunderbolt display. This Apple 4K cinema concept comes from Edgar Rios who has designed a rather gorgeous new 4K Thunderbolt Display. With minimal bezels on the right and left sides and curved design, the new 4K thunderbolt display does look quite sleek.

Latest industry rumors indicate that Apple is gearing up to send the 12-inch MacBook Air model in mass production later this year. These claims are sourced to Quanta Computer with the claim that the new device will enter mass production in the third quarter. The need of a 12-inch MacBook Air comes from the diminishing sales of the 11-inch MacBook Air model which sports similar screen size to Apple’s crazily popular iPad series.
