Looks like folks over at Samsung are in full gear for new releases and announcements. Just after the news of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha getting a release date of August 13th, now there’s word about the Galaxy Note 4′s announcement date. According to the Korean media, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be released on 3rd September. This is just two days before this year’s IFA. Samsung is traditionally known to launch its products at the IFA and this date gives it a nice window before Apple’s upcoming iPhone releases to market the Galaxy Note 4.
Just today we told you about how Samsung’s senior VP has just promised two new smartphones within six months. This announcement comes after dwindling investor confidence in the company which led to Samsung loosing $7.5 billion in market capital this Thursday. The smartphones promised were a larger screen phone and a device made out of ‘new material’. This led to speculation that the new device might be of metal and the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is the only metal device we’ve heard about so far from the Korean manufacturer. Well, this just in. Website AllaboutSamsung claims to have new information about the Galaxy Alpha’s release date. The release has been updated and the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will now be with us on August 13th.
Things aren’t going that well for folks over at Samsung it seems. Recently, the company reported its first year-over-year drop in net profits, with its net profit falling a staggering 19.6 %. All of this let to investor confidence falling with $ 7.5 billion being lost through sale of Samsung stock this Thursday. To regain this confidence back, Samsung’s Senior VP Kim Hyun-Joon promised two new high end smartphones within the next six months, the wall street journal reports. One of these models will be a large screen phone while the other will be made of ‘new materials’.
Google’s Android has always been a little bit more about style rather than pure, raw performance. If you’re an Android fan, you probably like the various style features that Android has to offer. These include transition animations and so on. Well, as pretty as these animations look, the unfortunate fact is that they do end up taxing your processor. And if you’re a heavy smartphone user, then all this does contribute to lesser streamlined performance. So if you’re experiencing similar lag on your device and thinking of upgrading your smartphone, even though it would be better if you rather didn’t, then stop. There’s actually a way around this and it will help speed up your device.

This led to speculation that the program would be replaced by the Android Silver program. New life was blown into Nexus after Android Police reported what it believed to be a Nexus Tablet in the works. The tablet was HTC’s 9” Volantis, and was said to be the next Nexus device. The tablet is expect to come with Android L. Google’s Dave Burke then confirmed that Nexus was indeed alive at an interview given at Google I/O.

A couple of days back Xiaomi launched the Mi 4. The Mi 4 was very much anticipated not only in China, but all around the world. This was because of the fact that initial specs of the device showed it to be a considerably powerful device, available at a reasonable rate. After the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 4, these facts did seem to hold water. With a quad-core Snapdragon 801 which clocks at 2.5 GHz and 3GB of RAM, the Xiaomi Mi 4 does really seem to be on par with other flagship smartphones out there. This is coupled with a 3080 mAh battery and a 16 MP rear camera.
All of this is available in a large variety of customizations being offered by Xiaomi itself. You can choose the back of the Xiaomi Mi 4 from an astounding 20 different options. These have been subdivided into ‘textile’ ‘leather’ ‘wood’ ‘bamboo’ and ‘marble’ for your convenience. Take a look below.

It is of course, entirely in black, with a relatively simple design, which follows Sony’s tradition. Apart from the pictures, @evleaks has also provided us with what he says the specifications of the Xperia Z3 will be. These specifications show the Xperia Z3 to be a minor update to the Xperia Z2.
Samsung Galaxy S5 was released a few good months ago, however, we keep getting awesome bits every now and then. This time, a beautiful video shares the Galaxy S5 video shooting capabilities. Able to record videos of up to 4K and sporting features like slow-mo and HDR, Samsung Galaxy S5 camera has proved to be one of the top favorites of the mobile consumers crazy about smartphone photography.
Samsung Galaxy S5 video shooting:
Motorola seems determined to get everything right about the Moto 360. From the brilliant design to a thinner bezel when compared to other Android Wear devices, the Moto 360 really is set to impress. Ask almost anyone about their favorite smartwatch and in most cases the Moto 360 is what you’ll hear. That’s how good this device really is. Sadly however, very little information is available about the Moto 360 when compared to Samsung’s Gear Live or LG’s G Watch. Well, that’s about to change, if only by a little. And it’s not an everyday internet rumor either. This piece of information comes from Motorola demonstrator Cathay Bi in a video TechCrunch hands-on video of the device.
Samsung’s next smartphone, apart from the Galaxy Note 4, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha aka Galaxy S5 Prime has got some new photos up the interwebs. Coming from two sources, these Samsung Galaxy Alpha images show the Korean attempt at a metallic smartphone that will be launched to battle against Apple’s 4.7-inch iPhone 6. These live photos also allegedly show a Galaxy Alpha that is quite smaller than the the current gen 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S5. Earlier, a number of rumors indicated that Sammy was producing a 4.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Alpha to combat against the rumored iPhone 6. Today’s photos confirm those rumors and leaked renders.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha images:
These exclusive Samsung Galaxy Alpha images come from two sources: the folks at SamMobile and a Vietnamese website Tihnte. Clearly smaller than the 5.1-inch SGS5, these images show a smartphone with a different design language while keeping the same perforated look – in the metal though. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be a 4.7-inch high-end smartphone with a Full HD display and at least partial metal designing. Carrying the same Samsung
The year 2014 so far seems “ground-breaking” in terms of how the mobile tech leaders are breaking their own shells and delving into what a consumer demands. Not trying to live in a state of utopia, but Apple’s rumored attempts at bringing out a larger iPhone this September, and Samsung’s alleged entry into metallic design seems to be what you may call bowing in front of the consumers. Fans of both the sides have long asked for a larger display screen from Apple and a more premium, metallic look from Samsung. While both haven’t yet happened, the rumors and leaks have been so intense so far in the year that we had to almost believe that both Apple and Samsung are actually working on where they may have been lacking. Awaiting the launch of a slimmer, sleeker, and larger iPhone 6 this September, we are going through a Galaxy S5 Prime rumor roundup because that is what we will be waiting for after iPhone 6 is unveiled finally.
- Note: to not get confused with so many alleged names of this metallic Samsung smartphone (S5 Prime, Galaxy F, Galaxy Alpha), we will keep with the very first and apt-looking name for this post – the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.
Galaxy S5 Prime rumor roundup:
Coming to put up some fight against the premium looks and style of Apple’s iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will be Samsung’s first metallic model. On one hand, Samsung’s flagships have kept ahead of the race with top-notch chips and specifications, on the other, they have terribly missed a lot of consumer market because of the plasticky look.
