Blade Runner Inspired Unreal Engine 4 Demo

Polycount’s member ‘Vulfy’ shared a number of screenshots from a project he’s been working on that is inspired by the classic movie Blade Runner. The Project is titled “Deception: The Curse of Tutankhamun”.

This is the final version of a Next-Gen / Current- Gen “BladeRunner” Inspired level for my Final year project at Sheffield Hallam university.

The premise of the concept was to design a level based around a Sci-Fi treasure hunting game. The plot revolved around an ex military hacker who had been contracted to steal an item from the Tutankhamun Exhibit. The level is set after that excursion when the player begins to notice he is being followed by men in suits and diverts into the alleyways.

Deception: The Curse of Tutankhamun certainly gives us a glimpse what a new noir game could look like in Unreal Engine 4, and perhaps a hint of CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077.

The latest update for Unreal Engine 4 is just in time for E3 where VR will have a major presence, and following the announcement earlier today that the long-awaited consumer version of the Oculus Rift would launch early in 2016.
