Apple has released beta 1 of macOS 10.12.1 Sierra, watchOS 3.1 and tvOS 10.0.1 to enrolled developers.

macOS 10.12.1, watchOS 3.1, tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 1 Seeded to Developers

Apple released iOS 10, watchOS 3 and tvOS 10 just over a week ago. Today, the company is taking things up a notch by releasing upcoming firmware for its various platforms. But all of the software which Apple has released today is available for registered developers only. If you do not have an Apple Developer Program membership at hand, then you have to wait things out.

macOS 10.12.1 Sierra Beta 1

It’s quite apparent from the name that macOS 10.12.1 is no more than a bug fixing and performance enhancing release. If you developer Mac apps, then we highly recommend downloading the new beta onto your computer. A ‘spare’ computer to be more precise.

watchOS 3.1 Beta 1

Since watchOS updates aren’t available as downloadable firmware files therefore you need to download the new beta over the air. First of all install the configuration profile (from the Apple Developer Program website) onto your Apple Watch and then check Watch > General > Software Update on your iPhone. Keep in mind you can’t downgrade back to watchOS 3 once you’ve updated to watchOS 3.1.

tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 1

Everyone gets a .1 update except tvOS. But nonetheless it’s great to see Apple is working on improving it in every manner possible. You can either download tvOS 10.0.1 over the air, or grab the entire firmware file to restore using iTunes. We would suggest going for the former route.

Warning for Users & Developers

Whether you’re a developer or an everyday user, we will not recommend installing beta software on devices that serve the purpose of a daily driver with you. Installing said software on spare devices is the way to go. But if you’re feeling way too adventurous and want to stay ahead of everyone else, then be our guest in installing everything there is.

Wrap Up

It’s great to see Apple not sleeping in the background after releasing a plethora of software in the past few days. Today’s release is a clear sign that the Cupertino company is working round the clock to improve its software across the board.

Apart from the above mentioned software, Apple pushed out iOS 10.1 Beta to registered developers as well. You can find all the details right here: Download: iOS 10.1 Beta For iPhone, iPad Released.

We will report back on what is new in a short while, so make sure you’re tuned in to our coverage. Also let us know in the comments section below if you’re going to install the pre-release software onto your devices.
