A few days ago, Bandai Namco launched a new teaser website for an upcoming title called Little Nightmares, promising more info in the days to come. Now, the Japanese publisher has finally revealed more on this upcoming game, which definitely sounds interesting.

Little Nightmares, currently in development by Tarsien Studios, is a rather spooky game with a unique twist, as players will have to help a girl escape a mysterious vessel inhabited by creatures who are perpetually hungry.

This dark whimsical tale will confront your childhood fears as you help a girl in a yellow raincoat escape The Maw – a vast, mysterious vessel inhabited by corrupted souls looking for their next meal.

An announcement trailer has also been made available, and you can check it out right below.

“Little Nightmares symbolises the evolution of our strategy to further strengthen the company portfolio with titles developed from all over the world,” said Bandai Namco VP of marketing and digital Hervé Hoerdt. “As we continue to explore new ways to experience our IPs, we couldn’t have found a better partner than Tarsier Studios to fulfill this vision and we’re extremely proud to show their incredible talent to the world by publishing their first in-house project.”

Outside of the trailer and the announcement press release, very little else has been said about Little Nightmares. The game will receive more details during Gamescom, which will be held in less than a week, so we should expect to learn more about The Maw and its mysterious inhabitants very soon.
