Prey 2, or at least a new Prey game, might be about to be announced at Bethesda’s E3 2016 Showcase.

That’s what two independent sources are saying. The first one is Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, who mentioned this in an article’s comments section.

All I’ve heard is that they’re announcing it at E3! I’m not 100% sure, though. I do know it’s codenamed Danielle and under development at Arkane Austin. And this is a totally new Prey 2 (it might even be called something else now), not the one we saw in 2011 from Human Head.

That same information appeared today on @aliennoire, the Twitter account of a Prey fan site.

@aliennoire first mentioned that development for Prey 2 (or whatever it will be called) had been handed to Arkane a long time ago. Prey 2, as you might recall, was in development at Human Head Studio before it was eventually canned; apparently, Bethesda did not like the direction and thus decided to let Arkane do something very different.

Of course, we all know that Arkane Studios is working on Dishonored 2, due on November 11 this year. However, that’s the main team located in Lyon; Arkane opened another office in Austin, Texas back in 2006. This new Prey game would be created by them.

We’ll bring you all the latest on this rumor as we get closer to E3 2016. As a reminder, Bethesda’s E3 2016 Showcase will take place on June 12th at 7PM (Los Angeles Time); you can find more information here.
