Android M is the best of what Google has to offer till now and we will finally be able to see how the platform performs when it hits compatible devices before 2015 draws to a close. As always, there are going to be a boatload of devices that will be updated to the new platform. Currently, we will be listing whatever information we have concerning these compatible devices. When more details become available regarding software compatibility of Android M, we will be listing them here (be sure to list this article as a bookmark in order to see if your device will be a part of the list later on).

Here Are Some Terms That You Should Get Used To Before Expecting An Update for Android M

Before we get down to listing the devices, there are several terms that we want you to familiarize yourself on. These terms will be listed on the table and will be present next to the device that is expected to be updated to the latest platform.

  • Native: The OEM (Samsung, Xiaomi, etc) will introduce the device with Android M.
  • Confirmed: The OEM or Google itself has thoroughly stated that the device will be updated to Android M.
  • Assumed: For devices that have been (or will be introduced) within the past 18 months that have not been explicitly mentioned for Android M software.
  • Likely: The device may, or may not be updated to Android M.
  • Unlikely: There is a very high probability that the device is not going to be updated to Android M. It will be a good idea to upgrade to a newly or recently launched device in order to increase your chances of experiencing the new mobile platform.
  • Denied: The OEM or Google have thoroughly stated that the device is not going to receive an update for Android M.
