Xiaomi Mi5 Scores Over 100,000 Points In AnTuTu – Are We Seeing A Galaxy S7 Rival In The Works?

According to a Chinese source, Xiaomi Mi5 scores over 100,000 points in the popular benchmarking application AnTuTu, because where else would you be able to obtain such a high score like this. Since Xiaomi has had a long term partnership with Qualcomm (at least till the time the company starts to produce its own custom cores), the upcoming flagship smartphone is most likely going to be sporting none other than the company’s Snapdragon 820, which has been manufactured on Samsung’s 14nm FinFET LPP technology.

The SoC is not going to be running of ARM’s Cortex lineup of cores, but will feature Qualcomm’s own custom designed cores based on the ARMv8 architecture. Well, it looks like Qualcomm has excelled all the way because the performance exuding from the smartphone (as stated in the benchmarks) is absolutely astonishing. We knew that somewhere along the line, a mobile device would be released in the near future that could easily surpass the 100,000 point mark in AnTuTu, but what we did not realize is that it would take place this soon.

We can expect that the other specifications of Xiaomi Mi5 will include a 5.3 inch screen with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. The interesting thing is that the smartphone was able to achieve this milestone despite radiating a dense resolution, which is quite impressive indeed. The amount of RAM present in the upcoming smartphone is expected to remain constant between Xiaomi Mi Note Pro; 4GB. Just like all of the company’s devices belonging to the high-end category, this one will neither have an expandable storage slot nor will it have a removable battery, which the company justifies, is done in order to maintain integrity and performance of its devices.

While we currently do not have any information on the pricing of the smartphone, we do know that thanks to the company’s effective business model, Xiaomi Mi5 is going to be much cheaper than its competition. What do you think of the latest benchmarking leak of the upcoming smartphone? Are you impressed so far? Let us know your thoughts right away.
