Just as predicted in our post regarding Wateen’s recent offer of unlimited (well, virtually anyways) internet package(s), the war between wireless internet service providers is heating up. And the first one to respond to Wateen’s offer is none other than Telenor.
They are, starting as of today, offering an unlimited data package by the name of ‘EDGE-USB Data Package’. The package is priced at Rs. 9,555 / year. The USB dongle, in this instance, is free of cost. Whilst the difference in data speeds is pretty darn evident, question remains as to how will corporate users respond to this offer?
So folks, how do you reckon is the war between wireless internet service providers shaping up? And who’s going to be the winner? (PTCL EVO, anyone) What if Telenor chooses to carry this offer forward to its 3G users in the future? Do you folks consider that a possibility? Do furnish us with your comments.
Upon confirmation, we were told that Telenor treats 2GB (Rs. 5/MB) worth of data transfer per month, as unlimited. Also, by the term ‘unlimited’ they mean, ‘unlimited’ connections.
Currently Telenor charges a minimum of 64 kB for each connection at a minimum (@ Rs 2).
