IGN has been very lucky today. They’ve gotten to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Xbox One, and have 15 minutes of of in-game footage for us to revel in. And you know what? It looks utterly fantastic! It runs smooth with some of the most gorgeous visuals ever. You’d be hard pressed to see the resolution difference when gawking at the pretty vista before you.

Watch the first 15 minutes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being played on the Xbox One.

First of all, we don’t know what version or build of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this is, so this may or may not be representative of the final game at all. That being said, let’s dive in.

Geralts hair is the true star here, flowing in the wind like a hero in nearly every scene. The social scenes flow smoothly between camera angles, showing expressive faces that have even slight movements down great. And did yo see the background? Beautiful. The tree’s lilting gently in the wind, grass moving slightly. And best of all, the action scenes didn’t even seem to slow it down at all. The FPS seemed quite stable, and keep in mind that this actual gameplay footage, so is representative of what we would see in-game.

All in all CD Projekt has done a splendid job of making The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt look great on all platforms and of optimizing for the hardware available. Even the supposed weaker Xbox One is able to provide a great experience, despite having the weaker GPU and other deficiencies compared to the PS4. This is good news for everyone, even those on the PC who may not have the latest and greatest hardware. This means that you’ll be able to play it at great settings and have gorgeous graphics just like everyone else.
